God will restore the years…

Nestled in the small country of Tortola was this church that we passed twice while headed off-roading. I couldn't help but breathe a deep sigh of relief as I read “Restored” and thought about the verse in Joel 2:25.

__

At the beginning of the year, I felt as if the Lord had given me this verse to believe for this year of my life. All the fears, uncertainty, prayers, and desires would come under this promise- “I will restore to you the years.”

__

In Joel, chapter 2 this chapter is broken down into three parts- The coming days of the Lord (2:1-11), The call to repentance (12-27), and Promised outpouring of the Spirit (28-32). The Lord had allowed the plagues of the locust because of sin. Before true restoration can occur in our lives, we must have a restored relationship through Christ and be cleansed from our sin and rebellion. So thus the promise of Joel 2:25 is sure, and so was true repentance.

If you are in a season of deep guilt and regret related to wasted years, be encouraged- God is a Restorer. He can take the broken pieces of your past and give you a beautiful story of redemption and hope. No matter how deep the scars, God still has a plan. If you are living in rebellion to God’s word, I encourage you to repent and ask the Lord to forgive and help you walk in the light of His truth.

The enemy's voice may be loud today, subtly saying things like- it's too far gone, it's too late, nothing will ever change. But let this verse be a signpost of hope; it's not too far gone; God can do the impossible. And with prayer, things will and have to change. If not the circumstance- surely God can change YOU and your heart towards the situation.

God will Restore- Be encouraged.

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.“

‭‭Joel‬ ‭2‬:‭25‬ ‭KJV‬‬
