Thy word have i hid in my heart…

Over the last few years, I have come to look forward to reading, underlining, highlighting, and putting dates near verses that spoke to my heart when I needed them the most!
___
* When I was grieving the loss of my daughter, I poured over grief verses.
* When my heart was aching from betrayal, I found and remembered all the verses on the importance of forgiveness.
* When I needed direction, I found verses that would point me to wise decision-making.
* When I struggled, I found verses that boast about God’s strength within me.
* When I was confused, I believed the verses that spoke to God’s peace and rested in that.
* When I felt helpless, I read how God helped his servants in their time of need.

Most go after spiritual experiences, but for me, the most spiritual practice that has benefited me has been the moments when I opened the word of God, reading and understanding (with the help of the Holy Spirit) the eternal truths that have saved both my soul and life from destruction.

Maybe you don’t write in your Bible, but marking in mine is my thing! Lord knows I love His word, and I love to see its work in my life.
